How did the band get started? We started back in 1992. However those were different members. The drummer who started the band is now in a band called Born Blind.
What is your goal as a band? To play the best hardcore music that we can and to tell people about the love of Christ. We want to earn the respect to tell kids about God.
What style do you play? Hardcore with an east coast flavor to it.
Where are you guys from? San Diego, California
What is the music scene like in your area? The hardcore scene is pretty good here. Like any place it could be better, but it is pretty good. There are a bunch of kids here who don't like us because we are a Christian band, but that doesn't bother us at all. A normal show down here is between 200 - 300 kids. It's a lot of fun.
What bands influence your band? All the old New York hardcore bands and a lot of newer bands. My personal; favorite band is xDISCIPLEx. They are incredible and are some of my best friends.
What kind of a ministry does the band have? Basically we just go wherever God takes us and leads us. He is in total control of this band and is the reason for being where we are today. We just want kids to see that we are down to earth and we want to brake the stereotypical Christian mold and show people that it's not about wearing suits and taking your money on TV.
After hearing your song "Pro Kill" it is obvious that you're pro-life. Have you ever had any interesting experiances or discussions as a result of this? None directly to our faces. We did ge banned from a club called Gilman in Northern California. They were too cowardly to tell us in person though. They waited till I called them for another show. Besides that, we have never gotten any opposition for that song.
If you had the choice, which band would you tour with? that's a hard question. there are a lot of great bands that I would like to tour with. My favorite band so far to tour with was xDISCIPLEx. We had a great time with them. I would love to go with Earth Crisis, Agnostic Front, H2O, and many more.
Any cool concert experiances or funny/weird stories? We always have crazy stories on tour. People pulling guns on us on the freeway. Showing up to shows on tow trucks. All sorts of madness happens on the road.
What's the wackiest thing you've ever done in concert? I don't know about that one. Last year at Cornerstone festival our guitarist Corey had everyone clap along with the song "open". their were like 3,000 kids claping! The rest of the band thought it was pretty cheesy but Corey seemed to have a good time with it!
What would you say the best part of the show is? The energy of everyone who knows the songs and are participating just as much as we are!
Do you ever play cover songs? Only 1 "Crucial Moment" by the Crucified. We don't play it anymore though.
Best and worst things about being in a band? No time is the worst thing. The best is touring and seeing all different places and meeting a lot of cool people!
Anything people should know about the band? We are just people like everyone else who love going to shows and hanging out. We are no better than anyone else.
When can we expect a to see a new cd? We just released our new album "Flesh and Blood" on Victory Records. It is available in any store. If they don't have it tell them to get it!
