How did the band get started? we all went to church together for a few years, and my dad had a pop band, and i was filling in on drums. Jerimiah's,(our drummer)dad was the bassist for that band, and G and myself started jamming together, and our friend Josh started playing guitar and we were like, "hey, we're 12 years old, let's start a band!!" which was really funny, cuz we were terrible. but God made a way for the whole thing.
What is your goal as a band? To tell people about God, without being harsh or rude, but just sharing our life experiances with people to show them what Jesus can do for them.
What style do you play? eek. i don't know. our first album was recorded when we were 14, so of course then, we played punk rock, cuz we were into it then. but as time progressed we did too sort of. we actually sort of Digressed cuz we did this backwards evolution and got more poppy and more polished as apposed to just playing whatever was fast.our new stuff is very choppy indie pop.
Where are you guys from? Montgomery AL.a sad, sad, town:)
What is the music scene like in your area? there isn't one. we have just sort of started one along with like, 2or three other bands. we sort of bring people in and try to get the kids hyped about stuff. The Kids here rock though, and they really want something, it's just that not many people have bands, or, any place to play.
What bands influence your band? Well, my favoriite stuff is EMO and 80's pop. We drew a lot from Sunny Day Real Estate, and Mineral, and bands like Roadside Monument, and Pedro the lion, but we also, on the complete opposite end of music, drew from the Knack, The talking heads, the Pixies, and the Cure.
What kind of a ministry does the band have? We just like to try and let people see us in action. Living God in front of people is the most important thing. We also talk about Him at shows, and if people are cool with it, we'll pray with them. especially after the show.
If you had the choice, which band would you tour with? Pep squad, or Royal, Juliana Theory, Roadside Monument(impossible cuz they broke up) but i would really love to tour wuth Pep Squad. i just really like their disregaurd for frigid musical structure.
Any interesting concert experiances or funny/weird stories? one time i chipped a tooth on a symbol, and one time, these girls at a show were throwing "undergarments" at us up on stage, and that embarrassed me really bad. and then once this guy sprayed us with coke. a whole sticky 2 liter.but, that was fun, cuz i was hot!
What's the wackiest thing you've ever done in concert? we broke our whole set one time, it was fun. we actually do that sort of often.
What would you say the best part of the show is? When you get all sweaty and crazy in a song. Like the hightened moment of the show. Or when you can't even finish sing a song for the tears. It is really cool to be emotionally effected by music.
Best and worst things about being in a band?Best things, you get to meet really cool people, and you get to express your self and stuff like that. Also, Shows are just really fun. the worst thing has to be being seperated from friends for long periods of time, and the fact that over 50 percent of people that talk to you want something from you, and they aren't just being nice, which, is a very "American" way to be:)
Anything people should know about the band? we are all mildly sprained.
Do you have any cds, demos, etc., out?yeah, we have "only Human" which is our 14-year-olds-playing punk rock album, we have "the inept" EP with 4 songs, new stuff, two of which are on our new full length , that we recorded like, last week. It will be out in June.
How can people contact you for merch and stuff? they can email me. [email protected] or snail-mail: 5700 bangor ct. montgomery AL 36117 Phone:(334)272-4931
Any final comments? We just want to say Peace Out and Keep God first. and i want to giva shout out to Nancy, our dumb rodie.
