Concrete

Doubleplusungood Records

Tighter than Limb Bizkit and cooler than Project 86, Concrete creates a sound that will definitely please any fan of rapcore. These guys don't sing the usual songs about girls and relationships, however. To the guys in Concrete, it's all about a faith in the Lord. The band makes it clear that God is #1 in their lives.
The cd, which clocks in at just under an hour, starts off with an answering machine message from a cranky neighbor. This is followed by an incredible blend of hardcore, rap, and funk. The songs deal with subjects such as the struggle to repent and give yourself to God, and watching your back cos' the devil is going to get you if you're not carefull. The most memorable song on the cd is the last one, "Were You There?" which is just truly awesome. "Were You There?" is all about Jesus' death and resurrection, and how He died for us. This song comes straight out with quotes from the Bible, which is definitely a great touch.
Altogether, the cd has a great clear sound, turn it up loud and it really will feel like you're at their live show. The vocals and the band stick together and come out with a tight sound.
