Threefold Cord

Tell me about who is in the band: There are nine guys in the band which includes our two Random Dancers. We are all students at North Park University in Chicago.

How did the band get started? One night on a boat dance we decided it was time to put an end to cheese-ball college dance music and start making music of our own that people could really get down to, Ska-punk to funk style.

What is your goal as a band? To glorify God through the music itself and the live performance.

What style do you play? Ska-punk to funk, AKA Caffinated Jazz

Where are you guys from? All over Da states including California, Arizona and Minnesota: Home base NPU.

What is the music scene like in your area? Chicago has it all: Anything from Burned out Wanna-be sweater vest Kurt Cobain to classical.

What bands influence your band? Pennywise, 5 Iron, The Chillie Peppers, The Police and many more

What kind of a ministry does the band have? We are very focused on meeting the spiritual needs of those who come to our shows. We believe that the show really starts when we put our instruments down.

If you had the choice, which band would you tour with? A band along the lines of The Offspring or Sugar Ray. Let me explain. It has nothing to do with wanting our faecs on cereal boxes or to be on Mtv. These are bands that appear to have the most spiritual needs and that are making the biggest impact on youth of our generation. A thought that is constantly spinning through my mind is "What if a Dexter Holland or a Lenny Kravitz came to Christ, what a powerful impact they could have for the Kingdom." Hey, life is short, minister hard.

Any interesting concert experiances or funny/weird stories? Many. Recently our drummer has decided to dress up like various superheros like Spiderman and OB1.

What's the wackiest thing you've ever done in concert? Lately, after being strongly influenced by rock and roll gymnastics, I have tried to incorparate as many summersalts and spin moves into the live show as possible.

What would you say the best part of the show is? Watching the Random Dancers do their thing. A homogeneous blend of breakdancing and the ever popular skank.

Do you ever play cover songs? We never have but are kicking around the idea of covering something way out of our genre like Depeche Mode.

Best and worst things about being in a band? The live performance/trying to work around nine scheduals

Anything people should know about the band?We have a recently improved website at www.jesusfreak.com/threefoldcord

Do you have any cds, demos, etc., out? Our first full length "Twopenny Firecracker" will be out in September
